Thank you to everyone who recommended affordable shore summer rentals. I was
asked to compile them so, here are the suggestions I have received so far:
- Try www.vrbo.com.
A friend of mine said it is good place to get
reasonably priced rentals because it is direct from the owners.
- I highly recommend Ocean City, NJ (close to Atlantic City).
- Call the Flanders Hotel and you may be able to rent a one bedroom
unit for close to what you're looking to pay (definitely negotiate with
whomever takes your call - the units in the hotel are individually
owned, but the hotel handles reservations.)
- There are other nice places to stay in Ocean City as well. We like
the Flanders because it's right on the Boardwalk and has its own pool.
- Ocean City is great and so family friendly- beach, boardwalk, water park,
amusement parks, etc. but a good time there (like all points on the Jersey
shore) is dependent on good weather....
- We spent time in Ocean City 2 years ago -- there is a boardwalk with
rides, it was really great (my son was then 2+). I don't remember the
cost.
- My family and my sisters family are staying in Beach Haven Gardens
on Long Beach Island the weekof Labor Day and its only $1350 for the
week. I've never stayed in Beach Haven Gardens so I cant vouch for it
but I know Beach Haven is supposed to be nice as well. Here is a link
to the LBI real estate page-you can do searches on the individual
websites
