 Hi. A few of you asked me to post what I learned from this list re: 
asbestos abatement companies. Here it is:

One person wrote: 
    "D& S Restoration, in Paterson; 973 345 8020.    We had a
small job in our laundry room (taking out insulation) and they did a 
great
job." 

Another person wrote:  "We hired D & S abatement (in Totowa). My husband 
did some research  and found they were recommended.  973-345-8685. 
Prices seemed reasonable, but we didn't shop around."
 
FYI: I checked with the state. Both are licensed. You do not need a 
permit from the town to do this, however, the state does recommend a 10 
day notification letter.  

I am in the process of getting estimates from both companies.
