Bernie’s Motor Cars on Millburn Avenue, Millburn (past Vauxhall Road intersection on left).  They are very honest and well-priced for both small and big jobs.
They will also drive you home or pick you up as needed.

We think Mike at Millburn Exxon on Millburn Avenue is wonderful - he is also inexpensive and will not do unneccessary work.
He does not charge to just look at a car and tell you if something needs to be done.

We think Ronnie at Livingston Sunoco is terrific!
We have always taken our cars to their respective dealerships every 5,000 for servicing.
About a year ago, when we took the Volvo in for it's regular service, we were informed that one of the two hinges that holds
the radiator to the car had broken. The hinge can't be replaced, so the whole radiator would need to be replaced (for about $900.00).
I verified with the mechanic that the radiator was in perfect working condition.  It seemed like such a waste.  The other work that needed
to be done on the car (brakes replaced, etc.) would have brought the service fee up to about $1,400.  I had heard good things about
Ronnie at Sunoco, so I decided to bring the car into him to see what he had to say about it.

First, he thought it was ridiculous to get rid of a perfectly good radiator because of a broken hinge.  He screwed a metal piece into
my radiator where the hinge had been, and screwed the other end to the car, and charged me about $20.00.  Okay, it's not a certified
Volvo part, but...  The rest of the servicing, to do exactly what Volvo would have done and charged $600.00 to do, cost me about $350.00.
Since then he's also done all the work on our minivan as well.  He's run over here on the spur of the moment when my battery died,
and has offered to pick up my car for needed repairs at times when I couldn't get it there myself.  He is wonderful.  I've turned a
few of my friends onto him as well, and everyone has been completely satisfied with his work and thrilled with his prices and service.

We'll never go back to a dealership as long as he's
around.  Ronnie,

I've had great experiences with Mike at the Shell station on Morris Ave, At the end of Short Hills, across from Scotty's and the Wine Library.
He's very honest & does excellent work

We've used the Meineke in Springfield.  They are really nice and responsive, plus much cheaper than the dealer.

We use the guys at the Exxon station on the corner of Vauxhall and Millburn. No paperwork with these guys but we have found
them be honest and to do good work and have kept our two old cars (16 and 12 years) running

We love Chris Palumbo from Palumbo Exxon – next to Shop Rite Millburn

We love Color My Car in Newark..we deal with Fred.  They are excellent, and much less than anywhere around here...they are approx. 20 minutes away...
We will be sending a car to them next week, so you can certainly tell them that Lori Stern sent you.

I find Chris at Palumbo to be very trustworthy.  My neighbor uses them too and really likes them too

we have used millburn auto or repair (or collision) on millburn avenue down towards maplewood.  they did a great job fixing our car and their prices were fair.

I use the Gulf Station at Hobart Gap and S. Livingston Ave in Livingston.  Glen  (Carnevale) is the owner and he is nice and seems honest.  He will also drop off the car or whatever you need.

I love the people at Shade Tree Garage in Morristown-John is the head mechanic and Marge is his assistant. They’ve done a ton of work for us. Best part, they give you a loaner car while your car is in.  Very honest and conscientious. Number is 973-540-8546

I like Dave at shell in chatham on main st.

Just to add another positive comment for Mike at the Shell station on Millburn Ave (across from Scotty's).
My husband's family used him for years when they lived in Short Hills, and we've used him since moving to
Millburn 1-1/2 years ago. He's extremely honest, friendly, reliable, and will not do any unnecessary
repairs.

I can vouch for Bernie's. We have been very happy with the service there. I
don¹t know if you all know this or not but Bernie (the owner) just passed
away and BJ, his son, has taken over. They are very good and honest.
