From: Shelly Subject: [workmom] 5 year old birthday party - compiled list Date: Tue, 19 Oct 2004 16:38:49 +0000 Thanks for the all of the great suggestions, which are compiled below. We have booked Allen from Kon Tiki Animal House. You bring the child to his West Orange location in advance to chose about 20 animals for him to bring, and he tailors the explanations about the animals to the age of the children. Shelly What is the child into? We did a great Mad Science Party when my son was 5 We did a fun Messy Artist Party when my daughter was 5 There are people who entertain (Maurice from Party Animals--he did Aladdin parties and Barney parties when my kids were little; I'm sure he's up-to-date with new stuff now) and people who show things--I know a couple of people who bring animals to your house (Animal Wonders) to show the kids. They can bring all reptiles, or small mammals, that kind of thing. I can ask around if you're looking for a magician. We attended a party the other day where the children made their own teddy bears (or rabbits, frogs, etc.). The kids got to hand stuff them, put in a heart, etc. and then they zipped them up, picked out an outfit and dressed them. This was all done in my neighbor's home. My boys, age 5 & 7, had a great time and so did the other children, a mix of boys & girls mostly 5 and under. It was well organized and entertainment I would definitely consider if I was throwing a home party. Their e-mail address is teddybearinabox.com My friend Roni Okun, who has used him, says the guy's name is Allan, his company is Kon Tiki Animal House, and his number is 973-325-8788. Roni says he is not always at this number but that he checks it every day. I know there is a woman named Ana (I think her company is Animal Wonders) and I will try to get that info for you as well.
