From: Pam Subject: [workmom] orthodontists--what i learned Date: Wed, 25 Feb 2004 15:45:43 +0000 Hi. A few of you asked me to post what I learned about orthodontists. Here's what people wrote: We used Michael Steinberg for my son's retainer and I was very pleased. My friend just told me about her orthodontist...his name is Dr. Rosen..his office is in Short Hills by the train station...she raved about him. My daughter goes to Mark Caplan.  We're quite happy with him. We love steinberg, but are in the beginning stages so can't show you an "after" picture.  I trooped my kids around to 2 or 3 to see what they said before I chose one.  I recommend doing that.  I couldn't believe the different approaches they suggested! Kevin Persily in Livingston is a genius.  Straight teeth, underbite correction, etc -- all with adjustable retainers, no braces. I like Dr. Newman on Pleasant Valley Way.  The office runs pretty well and it's not that far. You go through the reservation and instead of turning right for the zoo or left toward the JCC, go straight for a few miles. We just saw Dr. Stienberg today for his evaluation.  I'd like to get a second opinion.   We really wanted a retainer for one area of her mouth that is bad. Only one area. But he wanted to do braces on top and bottom. Said "kids can't handle a retainer".     We love Dr. Steinberg.  Not looking to put your kids in braces yesterday - really takes a careful and thorough look and will follow you until care is needed. My daughter goes to Robert Rosen. His office is very nice to deal with, and, although we haven't seen the results yet, he seems to be doing a good job.
