Thanks to everyone for their suggestions!  The ideas suggested were as
follows:
 
Many votes for Imagine That children's museum in Florham Park (I'll add
my own vote because we have gone before and it is terrific).

Music Together (also a great choice that we have done )

Short Hills Mall 

Livingston Mall (there are rides there)

Jersey Gardens Mall (has an indoor playground/place named Jeepers)

Woodbridge Mall (has a carousel)

Join the Summit YMCA/Summit Connection or similar place with indoor pool
and go for family swim/group swim

Bookstores (Borders on Rte 10, Barnes & Noble) or library (I have heard
that the West Orange library has a puppet show during the week)

Chuck E. Cheese

Messy Artist in South Orange

Diamond/Sunburst Gymnastics, My Gym, Little Gym

Romp Around (on Rte 22 in Green Brook - may be closed now)

Montville playground

Apple picking/pumpkin picking
