From: Tracy Subject: [workmom] shower pan/retiling - compiled recommendations Date: Thu, 10 Jun 2004 23:04:15 -0400 SHOWER PAN/RETILING RECOMMENDATIONS We had Joe & Chuck Fischetti of Fischetti Plumbing in Maplewood gut and rebuild 2 1/2 baths for us. They are very honest, reasonable, timely and their team did high quality work. They recommended vanity sizes, etc., however, I did have to go to one Plumbing and one tile place to select all fixtures, etc. - but these places were very helpful and do lots of business with the Fischettis. -------------------------------- Some years ago, we used Tom Villancy of Customcraft in Rivervale NJ; he happens to do a lot of older homes in the Glenwood area. I highly recommend him. -------------------------------- We experienced a similar situation last year--cracked pan--we used it as an excuse to get rid of our ugly pink bathroom. We did the plans ourselves and submitted them to the town for approval, because Millburn requires permits for everything. I won't recommend our contractor since we did all the materials ourselves, but if you are looking for a tile place--Passeri Tile on Route 10 in Hanover (heading east, across from Standard Tile) is a pleasure to deal with. Ask for Michelle. I've done two bathrooms with them --and they beat other prices. I think they can recommend someone to lay the tile. Madison Plumbing is very helpful on the fixture front--ask for Bill. I've also had good experiences with Bath COnnection in Millburn (ask for Vicki) -------------------------------- Would you believe we had a busted pan, which was only three years old?! We had had a number of leaks, which we blamed on bad flashing on our roof. It declared itself by leaking big time into our kitchen, three days before our in-house wedding reception. Oh joy. The person who finally came to our rescue, made the correct diagnosis, and serviced us efficiently and competently through the whole process, was Willie Wells. His team replaced the pan and did a beautiful job retiling. We've had him do a few other plumbing jobs for us since, and have been very happy. 908--232-3366. (Note from Tracy: We used Willie Wells for conversion from oil to gas 6 years ago, and did not have an overall positive experience with his responsiveness & follow-up on problems after the main job was completed).
