Not a lot of positive feedback:

I have the 42” side by side—I am mixed— Overall, I like the odor free benefit of the sub-zero—I’ve had bad smells penetrate through the freezer –and the sub-zero definitely eliminates those It is easy to clean and operate. The ice-maker is the major drawback—ice frequently gets stuck on the plastic fingers and stops the ice making process.  You have to chip away the ice and shut down and restart the unit.  It makes ice very slowly—8 cubes per 2 hours.  I’m not sure how this compares to other brands, but for us it is quite slow.

Hi, I recently bought several major appliances for my home...I decided not to get a Sub Zero for a few reasons.  Although it is large, it's compressor is very nosy.  Sub Zero fridges were originally made for restaurants, not homes...they also have a terrible rate of repair according to Consumer Reports.  Not worth the money for the cache of having a Sub Zero.  Just my thoughts.

I've had 2 different ones over the last 10 years.  I think they cool very well and am pleased about the layout and integrity of the food.  With my latest one though it needed both a new compressor and ice maker after 7 years.  Not sure if this is typical or not.

I have been happy with my sub-Zero.  The main reason is that it doesn't give freezer burn.  So I can keep things in the freezer for months and it tastes relatively as good as new.  It wasn't problem-free, however.  It leaked within the 1st year (covered by warrantee) and now the temp seems a bit warmer than it's supposed to be.
