[workmom] Compiled Tree Removal Responses

We used Well Done tree service to remove a very large tree and prune a bunch
of other trees on our property. They were very reasonable (about $600 less
than Maplewood Tree Servcie), very nice, showed up on time and did a good
job.

We recently had a very large dead elm removed. I've yet to recover from the quotes we got (4 separate quotes). We ultimately went with Tamke Tree Removal (908) 647-3537. They were by far the most reasonably priced and they turned out to be equally efficient.

We used Visa Tree Service which I believe is in Summit. The guy who runs
it is really nice and very cheap compared to everyone else we got estimates
from -- including SAv-A-Tree. Highly recommend him.

We've used a company called Peters Todd, I don't have the number handy but
they are in the phone book.. Their price seemed reasonable and they did a
good job.

After comparison-shopping, we used Barlett(rep:Jason Bond), which was the least expensive of the ones we
received an estimate from to cut down a very big and very old tree that our neighbor was complaining about.
The tree was dead in the top branches and after much consultation, we decided to chop the entire tree down
to the base. If you cut it partway, it is cheaper. They didn't use a crane since it didn't fit the
driveway so the cost was less. They did a great, quick job and cleaned up afterward. We also arranged to
have a few trees trimmed at the same time for a much lower fee than if they had to come out again. The rep
was kind and we were very, very satisfied.

I'm a great fan of Spring House Tree Service in Summit (908/273-6211). We
have found them to be much less expensive than some of the other companies,
and they're very reliable.
